- God I miss this time on the web - In hear you! Man did i fucked around. Made a website with no real info, because what could i tell the world als a 12-15 year old. - Use notepad to write html. All different folders with home as the most important - It had a counter how often the site was visited (it was mostly me) - And the account name was .tk (?) because it was free - Made a website with no real info, because what could i tell the world als a 12-15 year old. - I’m in the same situation at almost forty.
- I remember tk domains being free, yep

- May my first website be forever under construction. - Complete with gif of a construction sign thats animated for some reason. - The “some reason” is that it was cool, modern, hip, and cutting edge.
- …animated for some reason - Our scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.

- It was a better time back then
- Neocities is now a thing if anyone wants to check it out - my home internet was out for a few days, discovering and browsing Neocities on a mobile hotspot limited to 256kbps was a vibe
- It’s a dot org site, by the way. The dot com was malware at one point, so just be careful. - Edit: the dot com seems to no longer be registered, so I guess you don’t have to be that careful anymore lol

- I would love to recover my old GeoCities page somehow. I even remember the neighbourhood it was in. It was all about how cool hockey, Godzilla, and Warcraft 2 is - Give this a shot maybe? I know there’s some other archive collections as well you could try digging into. - I’m not sure I remember the address. Might have to spend a bunch of time on this archive today.

- Mine was in the Athens/Acropolis area.

- Big nostalgia feels. The internet was so good back then.
- It saddens me that this is either meant to remind people of the way things were, or it teaches them a world they never knew. - 1995 me would have been excited to see what crazy stuff is on the 2025 internet. 2025 me realizes it’s just a digital version of a carnival scam. Hot singles in your area is just the ring toss game. Give them your money, and then you lose. - The 90s were just factually a better time. Biggest controversy about our president at that time was that our president got blowjobs. - Biggest controversy about our president at that time was that our president got blowjobs. - Consensual blow jobs.
- 1995 me would have been excited to see what crazy stuff is on the 2025 internet. - And horrified at how it’s done.

- Memooorreiiieeesss of having dozens of angel fire accounts to get around their 25 mb limit running a very cool, very legit download site. My bros had all the latest dojin fighters from comiket.

- Break out of frames!
- I really wish I was online during those times. Then again I was only 5 years old in 1995, so it’s not like I could do much but play games on Nickelodeon’s website at that point in life. It’s fun looking at web archives of old GeoCities sites! - They had chat rooms back then on the Nick site with games. Who knows the gross ass old men I talked to when I was 9.
