Sometimes comic artists follow a predetermined theme for comics for every day in October. I’ve seen it happen in past years. I can’t find the plan for this year though.

Same, I saw so many. At least two in a row
I grew up reading the far side and was disappointed to discover (many years ago) it was no longer being written. There was always a certain enlightenment about a mundane situation, or humorous “what if” world that drew attention to the absurd.
I’m so glad to have found SMBC, where a similar spirit lives on.
I know SMBC isn’t the far side, they each have their own distinct style and outward appearance. Like a toad.
I think the toad brain would be the better option.
