our burgers in school were ok, even if they were part soy. this was the 70s and 80s though, before school lunches became outsourced profit centers for greedy corporations. school lunches in general were pretty good… and at college after, even better. was like going to a gourmet all-you-can-eat buffet for every meal (the ‘freshman 15’ was very real back then).

i wonder how often the ceo and board members of companies like conagra ‘eat their own dog food’.
just a hunch, but i’m guessing that’s never.

2·20 hours agostill using “www.” like it’s 1993 or something.
it sure catches the eye.
velveeta has a similar recipe as the ‘singles’, it contains some cheese, but also a lot of stuff that isn’t.
the cheese slices that fast food burger joints (mcdonalds, bk, etc) use is real cheese. the “zomg americans don’t know what cheese is” stuff… the wrapped ‘singles’ is the processed junk-restaurants don’t normally use that on sandwiches or burgers, but they might use it or velveeta (similar but sold in blocks) in a smooth melty sauce or something. i use it in some hotdishes and part of the cheeses i put in homemade mac & cheese.

very similar to my dietpi running on a low-power sff, except i use the hotspot app in dietpi and leave the guest ssid on the main router for stuff i dont want going through the pihole|adguard home (but don’t want on the main network)
that’s a nice idea, but when they catch-on it probably wouldn’t survive six months before breaking changes are implemented on the backend somewhere.

kwiktrip’s ‘quarter pound’ burgers aren’t horrible. they have in-store kitchens, so its not the microwave reheated crap like op that many stores have. better than some fast food chains. the paper thin bacon scrap they use on bacon cheeseburgers is pathetic, though.
