Fun fact: some Spanish Republicans lamented that WWII didn’t start in the earliest months of 1939, because then Francoist Spain would have been considered a belligerent and eventually liberated from totalitarism around 1945. Instead, they got adopted as a little fascist anti-communist lapdog by the Western powers.

Fascists were very popular in the West to prevent Communism

Canada imported a lot into our prairies for that reason

They stayed out of the conflict, so we named that flu after them.

It’s been over 2 decades since I watched SG-1. Please remind me of the plots with the Antarctica. I can’t remember what they found under there. But I remember a huge battle to protect/destroy it?

There was an Ancient outpost - first they found a gate there, later there was a big battle because SG-1 was going for an Ancient weapon (the yellow glowy drones) to stop Anubis’ invasion. Later we learned Ancient city of Atlantis was originally on Antartica.

I remember stopped watching when the Asgardian is on the verge of extinction. I love them so much that I couldn’t watch their demise. So I still haven’t finished the show till today.

I switched to Atlantis but it didn’t hook me and I gave up somewhere mid season 2.

You have any ideas where I could stream both shows?

Not sure, it’s probably country specific too. Atlantis is well worth a watch if you liked SG-1 I think. And there may be little something something for you deeper into it if you like the Asgard.

Wait a few more years. The continent is coming back to life now that’s it’s defrosting at an alarming speed and spring is coming to some areas already there.

I’m surprised it could even be conducted a 'world war" when 9.5% of the planet’s landmass not only didn’t participate but didn’t even have a standing army to participate even if they wanted to.

Uh, did you mean to say Iceland? You need to visit the Museum of Decorative Arts in Dublin, Ireland and see all of the historical pieces and writings about the battles between Ireland and Great Britain.

You need to see the display of Medal of Honor recipients that were actually Irish, but earned a medal by fighting for the U.S. as enlisted marines. They were foreigners, fighting for our side, as marines. American marines.
