It seems that many people here are not aware of how much Mozilla depends on Google, so switching to them is a small consolation. Maybe it’s time to support the development of new engines like Servo and Ladybird more. Servo even recently released an Android version (currently not very usable, but I downloaded it just to show support).

Exactly. In my opinion, that’s Google’s biggest mistake, and I can’t believe some people are okay with it. Everyone attacks YouTube as if they are the biggest villains, but let’s not forget that without them, most creators would be nothing. Most people here are aware of how difficult it is to maintain such a platform, yet they are unrealistic with their attacks. And yes, I am someone who has LineageOS installed, which says enough about what I think of Google, but sometimes you have to be fair. If they banned creators from having ads within their videos, I might even consider paying for premium.
It was the same for me. When I saw a few days ago that they were switching to Microsoft Azure, that was the last straw for me (even though it actually makes absolutely no difference to me). The funniest part is that when I clicked to delete my account, they said: ‘Are you sure? You will no longer be in contact with Jon Doe?’ and I had never heard of Jon Doe. The easiest decision ever.

These are a SearXNG instance, I think they’re aware of those facts there. You can set it up to not search or search on specific pages, you can also have multiple profiles which is useful when searching for different things. It also combines multiple web search engines… I haven’t dived into the configuration that much because what’s most important to me is that it doesn’t show ads, but I assume it’s easier to install the extension, although you don’t set this up every day.
Why not change your search engine and set up a SearX instance? You can find all instances here: https://searx.space. For example, I have set it up like this: https://search.inetol.net/search?q=%s&category_general=1&language=en&time_range=&safesearch=0&theme=simple, and it works wonders. Results are still mostly from Google, or you can configure it to be whatever you want.
Why Fennec? I use Mull and both have warnings that they are not fully open-source. It seems to me that only Librewolf is good, too bad it’s not available for Android.
Of course, I also use LibreWolf, Mull… but we expose ourselves to security risks this way (as is currently happening with Firefox and Mull), and besides that, you have to trust projects more and more whose code is not reviewed as thoroughly.
