Personally I think George Lucas’ idea of what the Jedi were changed some time between '83 and '97. From Obi Wan’s description it sounds like Anakin was recruited as a young adult starfighter pilot by Obi Wan personally, and that Obi Wan had been recruited and trained by Yoda personally, and that the whole Jedi order was a secret society of space wizards discretely passing their skills down to each generation along with their commitment to defending the Republic. Maybe you’d hear about them or see a video of one using the Force, but it would be easy to just think that they’re an urban legend and that the people who actually believe in that stuff are cranks.

But then the Prequels hit and it turns out the Jedi were a massive cult that was deeply embedded in the bureaucracy of the former government, so some things didn’t make sense anymore after that.

I don’t think Tarn has ever recoded to allow multi thread processing, so everything runs on a single CPU core (my info may be out of date)

Dwarf Fortress started adding multithreading last year along with an engine update. This is in large part to Tarn hiring outside help to work on the Steam release, and the game has never been better.

I also wanna say that the Steam version packages a full tutorial which will get you off the ground and also cleaned up a lot of the old game logic that was inconsistent and confusing (like how some rooms were “rooms” and others were “zones” and still others were “places”), and now I’d say that getting a base up and running is pretty intuitive since most things work just about the way you’d expect them to and it’s only “hard” if you intentionally make it that way by embarking on a dangerous biome or doing a challenge run.

AFAIK FF is implementing Manifest V3 so that those add on developers who are migrating to it don’t lose FF compatibility. As long as they don’t deprecate Manifest V2 for those that need it, ad blockers will continue to be usable.

edit: although I’ll add that there’s a major problem here that Mozilla simply can’t address. If ad block stops working on chromium browsers, and ad block users all migrate to Firefox, then that makes it a lot easier for Google or others to target users of those browsers and deny them access to their sites. Imagine if Google goes scorched earth on all browsers that support manifest v2.

Your problem is that you’re working backwards. Is the “correct” price for youtube premium the US/EU price, and the rest of the world is getting a discount? No! Of course not! If that were the case then Google would be losing money on every single third world youtube user!

I got a Chevy Volt based on this premise, and it’s true! I barely touched my car’s ICE until I moved further out into the sticks (running away from rising rents) and even way out here most of my trips are to the grocery store or post office and don’t need it.
