6·13 days agoInsolife is good. The cheaper ones on amazon are useless. I think modding a water flosser probably has potential as a budget option, some people freak out at the idea because it sounds super intense but if you ever spray one on your wrist they aren’t nearly as strong as it feels on your gums.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how this relates to anything I said.
How does someone elses unrelated mental gymnastics justify the mental gymnastics of a shoot and cry pervert.
‘I pretend to feel sad about doing this thing that I spent lots of time, money, and effort to do’ is perhaps even more unhinged than the people who are honest about enjoying killing for fun.
*I could see it for people who are exclusively hunting CWD deer.

Technology@lemmy.world•A Texas Drainage District Walked Its Ditch on a Routine Inspection. They Found a Pipe They Didn't Recognize Discharging Black Liquid From Tesla's $1 Billion Lithium RefineryEnglish
1·23 days agoI just wish the musk circlejerk stayed in /c/enough_musk_spam. I’m not obsessed with him so I don’t care about his texas drainage permits any more than anyone else’s county drainage permits.
The only reason to care about this ‘story’ is if you enjoy getting mad at musk. It is so absurdly inconsequential compared to all the stuff happening in the world that is actually newsworthy. I don’t care if people want to obsess over him but it should be in a community for it. This isn’t tech news.

1·23 days agoexactly the type of missing the point that I was talking about*And of course nuance is dead and if you’re not jerking off in the circlejerk you must support musk and everything he has ever done.

2·22 days agoA lot of people get off on hating musk, they only really want an excuse at this point. Like the very upvoted comment ‘I don’t care if it’s outputting pure spring water’.
Nobody would care about this at all if it was any other company. ‘Company erodes county owned ditch without proper permit with water that would meet drinking water standards if you dilute it by half’. But people enjoy getting mad at musk so it gets clicks and upvotes. And of course this and every other comment that isn’t saying musk should be hanged for this will be downvoted because nuance is dead and if you’re not jerking off in the circlejerk you must support musk and everything he has ever done.
There is not so much of a shortage of real problems in the world that some permitting issue over a ditch in texas deserves global attention.
*oh what a surprise. the musk anti-fandom took offense.

49·1 month agoReally bizarre to write or post an article saying this deposit was ‘discovered’. This is decade old news. I saw the headline and thought ‘oh nice that’s like a whole other Thacker Pass’ but it literally is just Thacker Pass.
Somebody needs to figure out a way to prevent people from upvoting headlines of articles they haven’t read because as far as I can tell there is absolutely no reason to post or upvote this.

Technology@lemmy.world•The Irony of 'You Wouldn't Download a Car' Making a Comeback in AI DebatesEnglish
19·2 years agoAm I the only person that remembers that it was “you wouldn’t steal a car” or has everyone just decided to pretend it was “you wouldn’t download a car” because that’s easier to dunk on.
I hate the disparaging of gatekeeping as inherently bad. Mountain biking has seen an uptick of people riding electric fat bikes, essentially just dirt bikes. It’s bad enough when beginners are using normal bikes to ride in wet muddy conditions on trails that can’t handle it or skidding into corners, it does so much more damage when they’re tearing up the trail with a heavy motorized bike with wide tires. More gatekeeping would keep the trails in better conditions.

Because obviously it’s impossible to take a photo with an underexposed foreground object and overexposed background.
