Is Reddit still a thing? I wasn’t aware?
I thought that it had evolved into a bot parliament.

We have to start adopting more accurate terminology for demographics. Most boomers are in their 70s and 80s. The ‘boomer’ shortcut has outlived it’s usefulness. I’m a ‘young’ boomer at 68.
I saw a lot of these so-called boomers at J6. Except that they were in their 30s and 40s. Boomers ain’t scaling walls no more.

I wonder? Just before I was banned, I used a third party app to scrap 14 years of my data and delete it all. Not long after that I was banned for some truly innocuous post.

I don’t get how they hate violence when I was last there it was full of drone videos blowing bits of Russians I to the air.

But can you get books to read on it? I suspect that these gadgets will get locked out of the market by the thugs.
I found out that when confronted with ID surveillance I don’t really want to visit that site after all.
Companies keep pushing security onto the user at the same time as demanding more personal data.
They can suck my…

Don’t want it, don’t need it. The nuclear furnace in space provides free fuel. What we need is massive storage. That’s the next real battle.
People will argue that we don’t have the tech yet. Well, we never have the tech until someone develops it. Do you suppose a chicken laid a nuclear plant? No, it was developed over time. So will energy storage.

The bigger mystery to me is why people try so hard to get back in. I had a 14 year account and when I was banned I just moved on. The last couple of years the place was a pit.

I got banned for reasons I don’t really understand. So, I just accepted it and it’s fine.

Depends upon the country. I believe that the US can, but not positive.
True, my friend. But Reddit is set on automatic self-destruct mode. Nothing can be done except sit back and watch from a distance. Unfortunately it will be pretty boring to watch.
Me too. 14 year account and it never bothered me much because it’s like being banned from a dumpster fire.
I’m wondering how driving out users will assist their bottom line? Particularly those of us who were providing content that they can sell. 90% of Reddit accounts are bots and lurkers.

I’m not a European myself, but when I visit France this is too common to even remark upon to my wife. I don’t know why they don’t ticket them, or maybe they do and it’s not a concern?

That’s why post-nut clarity is a thing.

I heard a guy call it ‘Disco Moot’, and he was in favour of it.

I used it before, but got banned by Reddit a couple of months ago for a genuinely ridiculous post. My account was 14byears old. I couldn’t care less about being banned. The place has been a burning dumpster fire for the last few years. If they want to implode that’s their business.

I guess that you have to live outside the US to see what a scary man-baby it is. If a country has all the power in the world, and then decides that rules don’t apply to them, it quite a short step to wishing that they would fail and leave the rest of us alone. The delusion is that they have adopted the world cop role. The reality is that they are the world bully.
You said dead people can’t consent. I said neither can shoes. Tell me the bit where I am wrong?
You have now added something about equality, on which I never commented.
That’s very true, for now.
At this moment Reddit is existing on its former reputation. There are a host of like internet megalithic platforms that are now not even distant memories. Once they outlive their former utility they fade pretty quickly. Think of MySpace, Friendster and Yahoo Groups. Even Facebook is circling the plughole, but it may take a while before disappearing due to its former dominant position.
