Lemmy is the only Corporate social media replacement I’ve stuck to for years. I’ve never gone back to reddit. I don’t need it. I like the vibes here and it’s just busy enough to suit my needs without allowing me to doomscroll nonstop new content.

That happens all the time on prime video. it happened to me watching the old school unsolved mysteries. Good thing I have it on my OSMC Pi’s 128gb drive.
Or it flags something as an error falsely and the human has so much faith in the system that it must be correct, and either wastes time finding the solution or bends reality to “correct” it in a human form of hallucinating bs. Especially dangerous if saying there is an error supports the individual’s personal beliefs

Short form video is the single best propaganda machine there is. You don’t get context, so it’s easy to manipulate events. Also, for some reason, people really fall for the “authority” of some rando talking into a camera like they know what the hell they’re talking about.
Every time somebody shows me a TikTok video as a reference or to make a point, the information is either fake or completely incorrect.
Not to mention, The algorithm feeds you more of these talking heads and makes you think it’s the general consensus

I agree, I think they’re overhyped, low budget kiddie games. Like if I got charged more than $30 for silksong, I’d feel ripped off.
