I just built a PC with 64GB Ram Corsair Vengeance 2 months ago. Paid 250€, quite expensive IMO (was used to more like 50€ ten years ago). But who pays 1000€???

Still waiting for flying robot vacuums or robots with vacuums, which also clean the stairs, shelves and other surfaces in the house.

You can use Jellyfin with wireguard and still have what Plex does. Unless you want to run an open streaming service (which would probably be illegal in most countries anyway).

90% of Plex users probably don’t need what Plex does and would be happy with Jellyfin.

Don’t expose jellyfin to the internet and it won’t be hacked. But you are forced to make a Plex account, if you want to use Plex.

I’ve started using AI on my CTOs request. ChaptGPT business licence. My experience so far: it gives me working results really quick, but the devil lies in the details. It takes so much time fine tuning, debugging and refactoring, that I’m not really faster. The code works, but I would have never implemented it that way, if I had done it myself.

Looking forward for the hype dying, so I can pick up real software engineering again.

Good thing is, you don’t need to use it. Bad thing is, it affects reality.

It is a relatively thin strip of land. I drove down the Carretera Austral a few years ago, you even have to drive through Argentina, because there are the sea and mountains and not enough space to “fit” a highway (alternatively you could take the ferry).

I don’t get it. AI is a tool. My CEO didn’t care about what tools I use, as long as I got the job done. Why do they suddenly think they have to force us to use a certain tool to get the job done? They are clueless, yet they think they know what we need.
