Daamn thx for the story time, hope that laptops start shipping with CAMM2 support instead of soldered ram.

Yeah I think it will have to come to that, I am usually my own IT guy and did not want to bother our DevOps/IT guy which is loaded with other more important stuff.
But it will have to come to that once it becomes somewhat unbearable.
Will ask him for a backup policy though now that you point that out.
I my personal machine I got a btrfs volume just for that I could replicate that.
yeah but leftover packages are a mess… but that’s a way to deal with the home stuff you are right.

We must create some legalisation on this else a buch of smart cars are going to turn into dumb bricks.
In contrary to what many are saying I don’t think going back to plain cars is the solution. I think an open standard would be the solution here to provide an option to self-host or connect to provider.
Devils advocate here.
I/O and storage in those media formats are kinda limited for video games.
Blue-Ray prob has enough storage (at most we could go for multiple disk releases) capacity but still you would have to copy the games to disk.
I think GOG is on right track on this DRM free keep on disk as long as you want no need to check with external servers to play them.

my homelab is using this setup, I configured porkbun API, compiled caddy with the DNS challenge plugin and configured it.
I am using ansible with jinja templates there, if you are not familiar with it or have any doubt feel free to ask.

yap looking for a job -> tons of spam emails and calls after a while.
and the thing is that you have to take the calls which might be for scheduling an interview.
I lost count to the number of times I said “Hi good morning” only to be greeted with "Your PayPal|Bank|eltricity bill … has something, something something pls give creds|make a payment to …’
Aaaaaaaaa fucking data brokers.

Daamn bringing a bazuca to knife fight ahaha.
that’s why I love podman, systemd integration and runs everything in userland by default no need for sudoers configuration.
unfortunately I still need docker on my machine for remote contexts.

+1. somehow has cat hair.
kinda like it been using as chromium alternative to my daily driver librewolf.
reminds me of brave but has no brave bullshit and pretty minimalist.
I usually go with the Halloween Papers when It comes to ethics.

The alt text is missing an egregious `W` ;)

Portugal CARALHO!!!

And if a FOSS project turns into shit a fork will come up.
One perfect example was simple apps acquisition. New owners turned it a ad ridden mess, fossify apps fork came to the rescue.
I though the whole thing was just a meme, but literally I was arguing with a mate of mine about the state of piracy in my contry and whether or not it was illegal to consume pirated media.
I searched found a post on reddit which linked me to one of my country laws official documents. I showed him the document and phrasing on the law that clearly stated it was only illegal to share/profit from pirated content.
My guy just hited me with “yeah, yeah . . . now ask chatgpt”.
Fortunately it agreed with the current law, but like what the hell the I just showed u the official thing.
Nothing special tastes like bleach with pineapple notes.
Yeah Disney is a shitty corp, but common majority of those movies are mostly fine.
“You may be eligible …”
Yap it’s a honeypot.
create some dotfiles, ansible playbooks and go nuts with it.
my current setup is arch+niri. but I have used hyprland and sway/swayfx.
here are my dotfiles
https://codeberg.org/Disco-Robot/dotfiles
I ought to update them though, so some things might brake if you intend to adapt them.
but yeah I would recommended you to check unixporn and see any desktop environment or windown manager that fits your fancy (if you wanna deploy fleets in your company don’t go full hackerman take into account usability).
Then grab the dotfiles if avaible RTFM and try to create your configs, sync with git and create a playbook that clones the repo, installs the packages and symlinks configs into .config.
if you are new I think you can’t go wrong with KDE and Gnome and it’s extension suite, else if you prefer WMs like hyprland, you have hyprland itself, niri which I love aswell and heard great things about magoWM although seems a bit hard to configure.
with that base the rest is lego in my setup I use fuzzel as the run menu but you also have rofi or ulauncher if it’s still around, for the bar I use waybar, the powermenu I use a fork of wlogout … you get it :).
