Not that I recall. I didn’t know anyone else in the class, and I don’t remember anything coming up in the class group chat. I did get quite heated with him at a couple of points, but I’m pretty sure he still gave me an A.

I took an environmental science class in college, and the professor was a former president of Shell. As part of the curriculum, we had to read his book, Why we Hate the Oil Companies. Predictably, it’s a corporate non-apologia, which—hilariously—completely avoids engaging with why we actually hate the oil companies.
Looks like it’s Majid with one “j”. Found this page; which seems to show the character OP mentioned, Lieutenant Maryam. Can’t find when she was first featured—wikipedia just says she was added later.
That’s a great movie! I haven’t really started showing my daughter (9) scary movies yet. I was terrified of spiders for like a decade after seeing Arachnophobia as a kid, and those Scary Stories books gave me nightmares for years, so I’m reluctant to expose her to media that might trigger something like that for her. Tough to know when it’s the right time—or at least, that’s been my experience.
But that can’t be right! I have it on good authority that A&W stands for Amburgers and Woot beer!

I’d totally forgotten about this show, but I remember watching it, as well. Curious to see how it holds up.

It’s been working fine with my GTX 1060. I’ll probably get around to trying different distros at some point, but I’m pretty happy with mint. Most of the issues I’ve had with it have been due to its emphasis on stability; that is, it’s slower to incorporate changes than more cutting-edge distros. At least, that’s been my impression—I’m no Linuxologist.
Your comment resonated with me. I wish I had more to contribute, but all I’ve got right now is: you don’t seem like such a mean cow.
Iirc, it was an energy/environment focus, so it was all about analyzing and comparing different energy sources wrt their usefulness, feasability, environmental impact, etc. This was in Houston, so the oil industry plays a huge role in the local economy, and funds the university endowments.
But yeah, the whole thing was pretty farcical.
