Usually such things have a simple explanation. systemd does a lot with time and date, for example scheduling tasks. It’s quite obvious that it has this capabilities, when you think about it.

I remember hearing about this guy years ago. He probably is now devoting 10 (?) years of his life (I did not look it up) searching for his lost bitcoin, but I have got the feeling, that he will never find them.
One could make a similar argument with Google (Android/ChromeOS).
No, I don’t want to! 😫
Not really interested in debating with average “I run arch btw” user. We are not in the same universe, things I have to audit and maintain are not in the same universe with things you do
Sir, this is the Linux memes sublemmy.
“Just avoid places that sysadmins and security guys frequent and get your opinions on systemd from memes and people running arch on home machine”. Great plan.
So salty. Also twisting the things I said. I for sure like to visit phoronix, but I avoid the phoronix forum and advice was to avoid the forum.
Noone was asking security guys but package maintainers.

Keep using Devuan if it makes you happy.
The systemd debate is basically dead. There are very few against it, but many accept it by now. Just avoid phoronix forum and some other places.
You have just single handedly chased away some potential Linux users and prevented Year of the Linux Desktop 2024! Just with that comment! I hope you are happy now!
2025 would be the year of Linux, if we could finally agree, that:
is the perfect stack of technology and configuration and that we do not need anything else. But no, you guys just had to disagree, and here we are …
I’ll believe it, when I ordered one for $1.
To my knowledge since Windows 10, files can be case sensitive. It is still tricky to setup, but it won’t break.
A baby step in the right direction.
Can someone explain the motivation of AMD? Why abandon it? Why 6 month later depublishing it? Why not embracing it? Why? (Please no sarcasm)
on twitter?!?

I took part in that. I guess, it’s my legacy now. 😁
