Didn’t know that was a thing. Glad to find out. Gives purpose.

Yes but dozens of forks with dozens of users is still dozens.
It likely resonates with many women who get spoken over by men a lot. It doesn’t matter if they are in a position of authority, or an expert, or the boss. They have a vagina, you see, so cannot really be in charge.
I don’t think it’s a great slogan and comes across as rude, rather than collaborative, but I can understand why some like it.
Would there likely be a fork at that point for those that wish to continue?
Surely we van look at apps that allow more informed data but without the anxiety. Like, here’s your data, this is less frequent than average. Or, here is your data, its the same as before. Or here is your data, its slightly different again, so we’ve already notifies your doctor, but usually this is nothing to be concerned about. Etc.
Lots of patients with other conditions have yo do similar, like diabetics monitoring sugar levels. Or asthmatics who can induce attacks by getting stressed about attacks.
We could build in some mindfulness exercises which help with anxiety. I’d say overall, its better.
With synology, its easy to use but you need an account with them to do a bunch of stuff easily.
However, you can also self host a bunch of stuff, without a synology account, but its easier with.
Personally, I’ve got a synology and would recommend it. My next has will likely be a beefier synology as I’ve got a pretty basic one and it struggles to have all the arrs and jellyfin running at once. My next after that would probably be a repurposed PC or laptop or self build. The synology experience will allow me to identify what I actually want to achieve.
If you currently don’t use any cloud services, then maybe its not for you. If you do, I’d get the synology with the synology account and reduce my cloud dependency. You don’t have to start with perfect. There can be a path that’s just gradual incremental improvement.
Also the rise of containerised software that is more easily cross platform for self hosting what would once have been cloud only.
Broken clock.
I’m surprised they made 440m. However, investing in r+d is not unusual. This amount is not a huge investment for them based in overall revenue.
After the expiry of the copyright i assume.
Is it still ludicrously overpriced? Like worth more than the combined value of other companies with more profit, more sales and bigger market share? All while other companies are catching up in tech with better build quality, better marketing and no poisonous head?
That already existed on psvr 4 years ago and I think take up was minimal. Again, it could be something that apple can popularise, now the technology is better, but it won’t be ground breaking.
I worry that it’s a bit chicken and egg. I’ve a psvr and psvr2, for reference. Without millions of users, the market for a range of quality apps is poor. Then, of those quality apps, only a few will be truly great, even less revolutionary enough to sell a $3500 headset for one.
I run a WordPress site but I’m not a developer.
It seems like automatticuses the community for free development and profits from it. They in turn develop and support it, heck they created it.
However, with foss its free for WP engine to use and they dont like it. So they are throwing a hissy fit and making out its about the community and giving back. BS.
I assume it will fork.
