They be Redditing.
I considered trying to make a mini version of this to auto-contribute to OSM. Street view image shows a compacted dirt road? Submit to OSM. Two lanes with lines? Submit to OSM.
Linux isn’t an upward curve, either. It mostly is, but those krackle-pops have to put a dent in the curve.
Yup, it does. I think I still have my server hard coded from when it first launched.
I know people who have, so I would disagree.
Will this happen with AI models? And what safeguards do we have against AI that goes rogue like this?
Yes. And none that are good enough, apparently.
If it begins to enshitify, someone will quickly take up the helm. It’s become so core now that someone like Cloudflare would just be like “We do this now.”
But, is this bad? Google makes a crap-ton of revenue compared to publishers who are now struggling with AI content competition. They need revenue to pay journalists.
Hard to define the good guys on this one.
Note: It’s also a misrepresentation. The EU asked Google to do this.
This is the opposite of what you think it is.
Google says it’s running the “time-limited” test because EU regulators and publishers “have asked for additional data about the effect of news content in Search.” The company says it will continue to show results from websites and news publishers located outside the EU, and it will resume showing results from EU news publishers once the test ends.
This is the EU testing what it would be like if they ditched Google, not Google testing what it would be like without the EU. The test also doesn’t impact the US.
Well, this was the Facebook origin story, so anyone on Threads deserves it.
The only thing it does better than Slack: A list of all my chats, most recent at the top, without any disappearing or grouped in some weird way. Slack annoys me.
You mean Future-X?
Pretty sure if they joined mastadon.social, they’d be fine. Plus the clout for mastadon would be woth the orgs investment if it was needed, though their infrastructure would likely be fine. We’re not talking millions of viewers.
They don’t need to do any of that. Just make an account on any instance and go forth.
If you can leave X, you can change instances if needed in the future, too.
Should use Linux Subsystem for Windows instead.
Very helpful for my machine setup scripts. Thanks!
I don’t know anyone in the US who feels this way.
Wait until net neutrality is completely dead. I predict 1.5 years.
Don’t believe that was in this fine piece of cinema. Ass Clown on the other hand…
That already exists in Street Complete: https://streetcomplete.app/
I was thinking more about machine learning against images of places to populate data automatically.
