  • These comments, yeesh. I am a cis white dude, and I don’t see how this post is offensive. As I’ve gotten older and more self-confident, I absolutely call people out for their garbage opinions/statements. Being a cis/straight/white dude it happens all the time that somebody says something racist/sexist/homophobic in front of me assuming I’ll be sympathetic. I’ve used all these “scripts” and encourage you all to use them also.

Jesus Christ stop with this “tankies” bullshit already. Go outside. I fucking wish there were millions of “tankies” out there swaying US elections, but there aren’t. Attacks land most solidly when they are based in truths. I personally did not vote for Harris because of her unapologetic support for Israel’s genocide. How many other people did the same? A hundred thousand maybe? A couple hundred thousand?

The democrats fucked up by assuming that “not Trump” would get out the vote like it did in 2020. Unfortunately, they haven’t done shit for people since then. They’ve had 4 years to get shit done that nobody could argue with, but they didn’t. Instead, they took a hard right turn in the campaign (Gaza, border policy, “muscular military”, etc). Predictably, this didn’t " energize the base".

Democrat leadership decided fascism was preferable to any capital concessions to the working class. It wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last.

Most people in here will never admit that. They basically love the status quo, even though it has produced Trumpism. They don’t understand how anyone could be dissatisfied with the status quo, so they think we just need to get past this election and everything will be nice and boring again. What they refuse to see is that when people are unhappy with the status quo, you win by offering them other options. Fascism is an option, and strong socialist policies are another.
