I did the same thing also assuming kernel drivers were more mature. I’ll let someone else beta test for me.

Has critical thinking ever been taught? Feel like it’s just something you have or you don’t.
There’s just no point in criticizing the Republican party. Their supporters don’t use forums like this. They almost never leave their respective bubbles. It’s the equivalent of screaming into the void. Republicans bad, Democrats good is one of the oldest forms of online circlejerking. It’s a complete waste of time and effort. Yes, they would likely handle the genocide as poorly or worse than Democrats have so far. If that’s your only point, you’re only bringing attention to something that everyone already knows. It’s so obvious that it doesn’t even need to be said.
The two mainstream political parties in the US exist on an extremely narrow spectrum. Both are neoliberal in philosophy and generally right of center economically. Only the Democrats lean left in social issues, but I find any support there to be completely nullified and undermined by their demented economic policies and rabid war hawking.
Democrats only want a little genocide, as a treat. Gee, I wonder why people don’t want to vote for that? Must be those darn Russian bots.
I have connected my TV to the Internet a few times just to update the firmware. Then I turned it right back off again. Not sure if this was actually a great call or not, but I couldn’t help myself. Probably should’ve checked to see if I could do it with a USB drive at least lol.
Mint is great for older PCs. If you have a newish computer, there’s better options.
I’ve never had Debian or Arch completely break, but have had my share of annoying bugs with both of them. Biggest issue I kept having with Debian is it’d just get stuck and wouldn’t update. Think it was 12.4 I had this problem with. Way more annoying than anything Arch did to my system. I’m using Fedora now days.
Same issue as this person: https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=156345. That’s not even mentioning the 12.3 debacle which I was thankfully spared of.
I have yet to climb Mt. Gentoo.
I just like them because my system feels “cleaner.” Always drove me nuts with Arch or Debian when you install something, let’s say it requires ~20 decencies, then you remove it later, run the respective dependency clean command, and it only removes lets say ~12 packages. Like where did those 8 dependencies go? Are they just stuck on my system forever? Atomic desktops don’t have this issue which I really appreciate.
The x86-64 CPU market has felt stagnant for a while. The real innovation seems to be happening with ARM and mobile. In which Intel is way behind. Might explain some of the news from today.
You can turn off canvas fingerprinting or any added feature with a single checkbox. I used to feel the same way about LibreWolf, but once I familiarized myself with the different settings, it became clearly the superior option if you value privacy. I also set my Firefox settings strictly, but then they added new “features” and turned them on by default. That was the last straw for me.
Alternatively, the TV company executives will need to buy a slightly smaller yacht next year.
Also can’t run 4k at 60hz on my system at least. That’s a total nonstarter for me.
Switching to Linux is almost always going to involve accepting that you may need to use alternative software compared to what you’re used to. If that’s unacceptable and you have mission critical work that can only be done on Windows compatible software, you may be better off staying put.
I paid for it until they basically doubled the price.
A friend tried to watch that with me a few years ago. Wasn’t really my thing.
What show is this from?
KDE is closer to the modern Windows UI than Cinnamon. Cinnamon looks like Windows XP which nobody has used in like a decade. It’s not a familiar UI anymore.
Why do people keep recommending Mint as a starter distro? Maybe if your computer is a toaster, but it lacks tons of modern features. Seems like a one way track to people thinking Linux sucks. Fedora KDE edition is a way better beginner distro for a halfway decent PC.
Yeah it seems like a weird thing to get mad about. No one is forcing anyone to pay this guy for his wallpaper app. Keep watching his videos if you enjoy them or don’t. The wallpaper app seems as inconsequential as his DBrand shilling. I watch his reviews every year and I’ve never bought anything from DBrand lol. Mostly because the products look like shit tbh.
