  • I know quite a couple of people making about 150k+/year and they live paycheck to paycheck. They spend money like it’s nothing and can’t save any money. This one person had to move back in with their parents after they lost their job after 10 years. They were making at least 150k/year for ten years and had no savings. They didn’t even have any debt. They just spent every dollar they made. There are a lot of people like that and I would imagine the tweet is referring to those personality types. Like I know this one guy that took an Uber just to go 2 blocks.

  • Something similar happened to a coworker of mine a long time ago. This girl I used to work with, Adriana, her boyfriend, Christopher, called us at work one day one said that she went on vacation and she just never came back. It was a shame too because the guy died in a car crash like a year later. I saw it on the news.

  • Some places pay you twice a month. On the 15th of the month and on the last day of the month. The benefits being that it’s easy to understand, easier on payroll and aligns with most business cycles and for employees is easier to plan your expenses. Cons being that it’s good for salaried employees and bad for hourly employees.

  • Being attractive is an exaggerated positive. I know this Indian guy who is 5’2, balding, chubby, and works in tech support and he slays in life all the time because he is downright hilarious. He has this immensely funny personality and is naturally charming. I’ve literally seen him steal girls from guys who were better looking than him in every single way. Life is mostly about your personality and how you can utilize it.

Y’all were cheering, hollering, and hooting like a 90s sitcom audience when Uber came about. You championed the identity politics because some of you had bad experiences with taxi drivers. You shouted down the opponents and liked how Uber was cheaper because it was being subsidized by venture capitalists.

Now the taxi industry is in control of tech tsars instead of the government and you only have yourselves to blame.
