I recommend the Behind the Bastards episode on him. He had a ton of opportunities available to him normal people don’t, including ones that aren’t strictly financial. For instance, he was allowed to ignore most of his other subjects in high school to concentrate on computer stuff. As a person who had similar interests in computers and sometimes not an interest in some other classes, that’s a huge advantage.

While I didn’t have too hard a time in school (only needed 2 classes to pass my final year), being able to concentrate on just computers(which were my electives) would have been far less stressful and would have allowed more concentration. That’s just one of many intangible benefits.

Only way I’ve done em. I am basically incapable of standing in front of the same pot for 45 mins. Don’t get me wrong, I love cooking, but some of the really tedious styles, especially if also monotonous, I can’t do. I’d get distracted by something eventually.

That definitely helps from anecdotal information I was told, and I do the same. One of my younger sisters worked at a sorta prominent restaurant in Atlanta, and she complained that some of the high end clientele refused to look her in the eye. Sometimes she found it so insulting she’d act like she didn’t realize they were talking to her until they made eye contact.

I felt bad for enjoying it. Worked from home, hardly expected to go out, much less traffic. Most service related jobs I prefer to do myself (like haircuts like you mentioned) or am perfectly fine with minimal contact. In general I feel bad for service workers so even if they aren’t friendly with me (not that I ever really experienced that much) I wouldn’t mind, and also don’t mind self checkout and automation.

I may sound like I’m accusing others, and maybe that’s part of it, but the way service workers are expected to act certain ways with us feels like trying to perpetuate class based servitude. As long as they’re relatively professional and not outright insulting, I think it’s fine.

I’ve spoken with plenty of feminists, vegans, some trans people, and several right wing constitutionalists or other right wing identity. Almost every vegan I’ve talked to in RL was very pleasant and I had to know them a while or go to lunch with them to even find out they’re vegan. Trans I’ve never had a problem with, and occasionally reminded me their preferred pronouns in a very polite way (actually our mutual friends usually did instead). Feminists I’ve only found TERFs annoying.

However the constitutionalist? I got in arguments with him about stuff like whether people should be liable for animal abuse (he claimed animals don’t have a soul so no punishment should come from harming them). He also acted like women were too emotional, but every time we got into a discussion with something he didn’t like he would be nearly yelling. If asked to be calm he’d angry claim not to be logical, not angry/emotional. He was the one we had to walk on eggshells around, while also being the main person doing “wife bad” or other misogynistic jokes.

While that’s one example, I’ve met many others who like to be mean then retreat to “just joking” or “That’s how I grew up”, while the people you claim are more annoying are more likely to adjust to the feelings or likes or dislikes of the person they’re talking with.

Edit: I may be mistakenly looping stuff like Darktide, Helldivers, Monster Hunter, etc into Deathmatch, as those are most of my co-ops aside from survival builders. I also play FFXIV and Elite Dangerous with friends so not hurting as much as others for co-op.

Having tried to use those, my main issue was the 710 is an unreliable 2.4ghz wireless, when bluetooth controllers all worked much better for me. I couldn’t get the 710 to have reliable button presses from more than like 4 feet from my pc, so I ended up just using the 310 wired. Maybe there isn’t enough interference on the sub for that to be an issue.

I listen to a variety of podcasts for different moods, and I also use it like music. Sometimes I’m in a music mood, sometimes I decide I need to hear how terrible Kissinger really was, sometimes I want to hear Dan research and refute all the lies Alex Jones spouts (the last two come often with the benefit of learning the origin of bullshit being spouted by some internet personalities), and sometimes I want to hear 3-5 guys who I find funny discuss movies and/or Wikipedia articles. I also like listening to factual and historical podcasts that have more detailed researching.

Why listen when I could look up and read it? Well I do look up and read specific topics, but that takes my full attention. I have ADHD and my mind can wander without additional input if I’m doing something tedious. So I listen while driving, cooking, cleaning, working, and even gaming. Gaming isn’t tedious per say, but sometimes you have bursts of that (farming items, repeatable dailies, etc). I pause when I really need to, but some games I also play for relaxation, and I can relax and listen to a funny podcast at the same time. If it’s work or gaming where I need focus, music works better.

As people have pointed out, they’re an advocacy group, and trying to reach less aware people. The fact that Elon banned em shows it was most likely working.

Well, not getting the distinction is pretty important. People can’t discuss an issue without both understanding the definition of terms, or we’d just be speaking different languages to each other.

Cis and trans are both Latin prefixes.

Trans- is a Latin prefix meaning “across”, “beyond”, or “on the other side of”.

Cis- The prefix “cis-” comes from the Latin meaning “on this side,” as opposed to “trans-” which means “on the other side of” or “beyond.”

So all cisgender means is not transgender. Or transgender means not cisgender. Neither are insults that should offend, and if one does, it might be a viewpoint thing.

You are, presumably, a homo sapiens sapiens. We don’t use that term generally, and just call you human. However, both are correct labels, and they aren’t insults. If there were homo neanderthalensis around still, the distinction may come up in conversation for various reasons, and that’s when it’d be necessary to have the different labels.

Straight or gay/bi/lesbian/pan/ace/demi etc are all talking about something completely different, which is your sexual orientation. Calling you straight when we’re discussing whether you are cis or trans would be like calling you lotion or something when talking about your species. Lotion isn’t a species, so it’s pointless to the conversation, and just plain wrong.

You could of course request to be called lotion, but it’s a confusing title if someone was discussing your species, especially medically, in socially (as in social issues or norms for your species), issues that pertain to your species, medication, etc.

Now, here is where I might be skirting close to accusing you of something, but if possible, please just think deeply about it. Why is CIS unacceptable but straight acceptable? Is it possible that CIS makes you not feel “normal” as a label, while straight does?

Disagree with the third. Not your description, but the eat by itself part. It can be great either way, just straight or as a mayo. Though it’s probably more healthy as the supliment than just by itself.
