Do I need to flip another table and make @Lazycog@sopuli.xyz sad or are you gonna tell us what that would roughly translate to?
Why are you leaving us hanging? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
What would be a more accurate phrase?

That many real life users.
Don’t be too hard on yourself. I don’t think it’s anybody’s fault being how they are. Also, it might be hard to make close friends the older you get you can still meet people with similar interests and just spend some time with other people. Getting out of your own head and seeing others perspectives can really help. Find some groups to join and get over yourself :)
To everyone who still has friends asking you to join. Don’t pass up on those chances. This is the easiest you’ll ever have it.

I wouldn’t mind them if they didn’t carry/transmit those awful diseases.

brrt@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Audible unveils plans to use AI voices to narrate audiobooksEnglish8·2 months agoA shitty narrator can get me to hate a book I like.
And that is where I see potential for AI. There are quite a few books which I’d love to listen to but they are all narrated by a guy whose narration I can’t stand. AI would open the possibility to choose a voice and I might actually get to enjoy those books. It’s Amazon though so the ethical implications and quality concerns are something I’m worried about.
I can think of another 3 letter word, and it rhymes, that would make this even sadder.
Did you skip Capitalism 101?
Is the computer/robot able to freely decide when/if to speak?
No = you should direct your attention to your fellow “divine” beings who programmed them
Yes = fuck you
Now ask “Can one see California without Marlon Brando’s eyes?”
Even the snails are Illuminati now! /s
the human population is very much reliant on animal sources to sustain itself
Do you have a source for that? What % of the global meat consumption is actually necessary and what is just for pleasure? And don’t get me started on food waste…
what is required to continue existing as a species
Do you mean scale up as a species? We’ve existed for how many thousands of years in a sustainable way?
the distinctive categories of pets and livestock are an unfortunate requirement of our current situation
A requirement for what? You said we need animals to sustain ourselves. What do we need the distinction of pets for?
People who treat
petsanimals as property are not good people.FTFY
I’m not a militant vegan, I do make occasional exemptions for ethically sourced animal products. But the distinction between pets and other animals is just hypocritical.
brrt@sh.itjust.worksto Fediverse@lemmy.world•The fediverse has a bullying problemEnglish0·4 months agoIt sounds like she’s very upset that Dansup made it explicit that he was fixing this issue, thinking that even exposing it in commit comments (which as we know get way more readership than blog posts) would mean people knew about it, and the less people that knew about it, the safer her partner’s information would be since she is continuing to do this apparently. You will not be surprised to discover that I think that type of thinking is also a mistake.
I agreed with you at first because from your description it sounded like she was saying security through obscurity was a good thing. But that’s not the case.
What she’s saying in the blog post is that this a 0-day and should be handled according to the best practices for 0-day disclosure.
You have to decide if you want to
- publish the findings before the fix -> more people will know and exploit the vulnerability but users might be aware and may or may not be able to mitigate sharing even more
- publish the findings after the fix -> the opposite
I don’t pretend to know enough to judge which option is the best. But I can’t fault the blog author for pointing out that Dansup didn’t follow best practices.

People seriously underestimate how shitty most alternatives are. And any time I see people hating on Jira I never see a proper alternative mentioned.
