Never even mind the quantity issue. The idea of plugging thoughts from “the cloud” into my head is horrifying. You really want to be free-basing the shit on the internet that already makes you feel dumber just by reading / watching it?

There are leaked emails from Google (from many years ago) where it was proposed to purposely degrade search quality to increase ad clicks. While some at Google responded with dismay as this, it is not a great leap to assume that this faction eventually won and they did in fact deliberately do that. Advertising is Google’s main revenue source, they are clearly motivated to do so.

Search quality has been degrading for years, even before AI was involved.
I get a ton of left wing stuff recommended in my feed and no right wing trash. As much as the algorithm has degraded, it can learn things like this from what you watch and like.

I think this what I came up with last time I considered this question, and I also wonder if I might want to use it for my next machine myself. Do you have a lot of experience using it? Do you feel like it performs pretty well? (I just have concerns that everything being containerized with flatpak and docker might affect that…)

Unique coming to just mean unusual.

Oof! Let me just join in thanking zalamander for their work.
I’m drawing on some old memories here, so I could be mistaken, but I don’t think the stack is read only, not in C anyway or in the underlying machine code. If it is faster it has to do with greater overhead needed managing the larger heap and perhaps being more efficient to push and pop with small offsets to a local stack frame vs large absolute addresses.
