Love that you just come in here saying everyone else is wrong, yet not once admit maybe this is a huge problem after experiencing countless examples:).
No, but I did respond to the wrong comment. Whoops
Are you sitting 1 foot from the 56’ screen? No? Then display port is more than fine.
What movie is this from?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Spez (Reddit CEO) just put out an announcement talking about how they'll verify bots vs humans. Get ready for a wave of new users into the Fediverse pretty soon!
2·6 days agoNot when you can generally make a 1 time use card, or a “virtual” card that most brands offer. Granted the only places I’ve seen this type of verification used is where you’re going to buy something anyways.

1·15 days agoTried myself, no browser except chrome worked. Rather infuriating.
Why would you even want to delete them after a day?
Damn straight, why else would my steam deck control my trains and play TS at the same time?
I’ve installed a number of different things on my PC. Almost all are still just self contained .appimages which I don’t even need to create a shortcut of, I can just keep the app image where I want it and use that.
Now I haven’t had the need to pin any app images to my task manager, so I can’t speak to that portion. Personally speaking it is just a non-issue for me is all.
The only time I’ve ever added any programs go lutris/steam is when its not a native Linux program, and in that case, yeah, I expect to do some fiddling because it wasn’t meant for Linux in the first place. This also has the added benefit of letting me use controllers
Wat? I’m on bazzite tbf, a locked garden where you’re not allowed to do anything Advanced tbf, but I literally just right click create shortcut. Or if I want to pin it… I right click “add to task manager”

4·19 days agoAhh I misunderstood you and took you for the benefit of the doubt.
If you have a system off grid then it doesn’t fucking matter.

3·19 days agoThey would likely have two separate frequencies, a standard used nationally “On the Grid” frequency, and if you’re “Off the Grid” you would need to have a different frequency then what ever is used locally.
You could use a device Like this to measure, or change the frequency of said wire.

Technology@lemmy.world•Easy-to-use solar panels are coming, but utilities are trying to delay themEnglish
4·19 days agoYou have a wire, it has voltage going through it, that means it has an EM field. We can measure said field in many ways. You can even measure this without needing to physically touch the wire. The absence of any electricity at all means no frequency, no em field. Put even 1mv through the wire and now it has an EM field.
You have just measured Frequency vs No frequency. Why is this such a difficult concept to understand?

5·19 days agoSo you do realize that this is exactly how HV wire detectors work right lol… You hold up a wire (or there’s a wire in the wall) carrying high voltage, and the wand will pick up the EM Field.

I honestly wish someone had said something similar when I made my switch. I love bazzite, and I’ve made it work for myself. But even as a barely tech literate guy, it can still be a struggle, an even just trying to pacman or install something sends me down a rabbit hole of things I dont understand.
Anyway, it works, but I wish I had gone with something more stable with far more documentation.
