In the US you can’t even buy vegetables right now without worrying about getting explosive diarrhea. Just the thing you want for your children.

3·2 months agoAnd I say eight and a half hours because when you have a 30 minute lunch it’s hard to actually leave the building to go get something to eat.

1·2 months agoAnd that’s the horseshit part. Now you’re at eight and a half hours of work time because they’re not paying you for lunch so you got to make up that extra 30 minutes.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Finally HR does something right
19·2 months agoIn the US, it is extremely common for people to only get a half an hour, and not even a full hour, and it’s usually unpaid.
EDIT: Oh, and I left out the best part. At many jobs it doesn’t count toward your work hours either, so you work an eight and a half hour day or a nine hour day because you got your lunch break.

Technology@lemmy.world•Just Pay the Subscription - by Dustin Bluck - Uncommon AppsEnglish
8·2 months agoI agree, only because you can’t trust buying anything anymore.
If you could trust that you were paying once for a piece of software, hardware, car, etc. these days, that’d be okay.
But the subscription hell that the world has turned into is ridiculous.
