If only there was a way to keep files on a device you can keep in your home. Maybe even set up a closed system that you can access from everywhere without having to rely on Google’s servers 24/7.

    Oh wait, there is. Nevermind.

As much as I’m talking shit, I get it. At the end of the day convenience is a hell of a drug.

  • Yeah, I agree with that. And their solution instead of actually fixing the problem is throwing money and computing power at it in the hope that brute force will make it “better.” When in reality it hasn’t even changed that much in the past year besides more eloquently saying complete bullshit. Call it a conspiracy, but I think with nobody ever telling the truth on the internet, LLM’s have only taught themselves to bullshit everyone into believing them.

I drive a small 4 cylinder Honda. Gas mileage is amazing. If anything, gas is so cheap compared to groceries I’m thinking about getting a Costco membership even though I have to drive for almost an hour and a half. A week’s worth of groceries at Kroger is almost $100 for one person. It costs me $65 to fill up my gas tank which lasts me 2-3 weeks. I might as well just drive the extra distance and buy bulk.

  • I’m in the process of this now. I haven’t used Linux in like 15 years so I’m starting slow with my laptop. My goal is to be free from windows on my desktop and laptop before I have to go to Windows 11. I have to use Windows 11 at work and it’s fucking miserable. I can understand some of the changes from a personal usage standpoint, but from a work related one there are so many features that just make productivity worse. I’ve had to change shit in the registry like 7 times just to get some quality of life features that they changed.

  • Jesus Christ that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. The submarine in the game Iron Lung was safer to drive than this thing.

But Wilby said that for the Titan, the coordinate data was transcribed into a notebook by hand and then entered into Excel before loading the spreadsheet into mapping software to track the sub’s position on a hand-drawn map of the wreckage.

The OceanGate team tried to perform these updates at least every five minutes, but it was a slow, manual process done while communicating with the gamepad-controlled sub via short text messages.

Updates every FIVE MINUTES?! I wouldn’t even trust this thing in a damn swimming pool.
