Good on you for standing your ground, though. I think if more people said “wow you should have planned that better then, huh?” we’d be in a much better place. I’ve done longer days only to still get bitched at and so I decided that I will only ever work overtime if I feel as though it was a personal failing or a promise I failed to keep that someone is relying on.

I seriously don’t get how these people get themselves so much power and money. Well, I do, and that’s that they get there on the backs of others who let them do it for one reason or another. If we just stopped taking their bullshit they’d have nothing since they have no real skills on there own. They aren’t fuckin’ archmages who’ll bend us to their will, they’re dweebs with no real skills and their power is only as strong as the people willing to enable them.

The culture, especially for younger people these days, is that management constantly “drops hints” that people who don’t let them commit labour violations will be first to get laid off. You’ve been working for at least 30 years and have a senior position but, bud, it ain’t like it was.

My dad’s a very well qualified verification engineer and even he’s finally starting to realize how toxic that environment truly is. If you don’t let people walk all over you don’t have a job. If you complain when execs set unreasonable deadlines you don’t have a job. If you go home at the end of your 40hrs you’re not a team player don’t have a job. Oh you’re complaining about your two yearly sick days and measly two weeks of vacation fine here’s a long vacation and don’t come back.

I got canned in March because “it just wasn’t working out”. I got along with people, did a good job, and was on large projects so what was the problem? I asked for more money in as polite a way as I could. I pushed back against a senior engineer who wasn’t even aware that his building code needed to be updated. I didn’t make the partners feel like special little boys. North American work culture is, for the vast majority of people, incredibly toxic. I’m glad your experience is different.

A not-insignificant number of men are the problem. Where are you seeing the democrats saying this so blatantly? I haven’t seen it yet and would love to know where it’s coming from.

I don’t think the person looking to listen to the historically margainlized group is the one lacking compassion. The people who are demanding said group be nice to them or they’ll leave them to the wolves, however…

Which would forget the huge amounts of indoctrination that subset of that group has experienced, both religious and just cultural by way of hearing “it’s a woman’s place” for their entire lives. And just because they can be stupid, too, doesn’t mean they aren’t victims and just because they’re victims doesn’t mean they can’t be stupid.

We’re all getting fucked by the right economically and it’s not even hidden a little but but they keep getting into power. It’s the same shit, different pile.

Men aren’t being left behind, they’re just a bunch of fucking babies about maybe actually having to police their own behaviour. Women have been carrying the mental load for generations and now that we’re being asked to carry our fair share we do this shit.

Also, I’m a tall straight white male. Blond hair and blue eyes and everything. I don’t feel the least bit left behind. I feel embarrassed that I may have acted a certain way in the past, and it’s hard to overcome habits and normalized shitty behaviours. Instead of running from it and blaming everyone else for pointing out how my behaviour might have hurt someone I’m dealing with it and trying to be better.

And yet these “all ____ matter” comments only come up when someone tries to take the spotlight away from white men. Women getting the support they need has been fought tooth and nail by men for fucking ages. The group that only just got the ability to have their own bank account doesn’t owe us fuck all in politeness especially when so many of us act like goddamn degenerates all the fucking time. They still struggle to even get healthcare that isn’t designed for men.

Women asked for some basic goddamn respect and when they got “uppity”(because us men weren’t listening) they really got a “you were mean to me so I’m gunna elect Hitler again”. Millions of people alive today want women strip women of the rights they fought for and women are supposed to be polite about it?!

Oh so so weak that they couldn’t say no to being told by some poncy dipshit that they needed to put themselves in danger over something they definitely didn’t care about.

From what I’ve been seeing I think a lot of shoes are just uncomfortable as-is. My longer big toe gets pushed around by the side of a slimmer shoe and shoes in generally aren’t quite wide enough around the toes for most people’s feet.

I mean they really, very obviously, do go in for conservatives. It’s their whole fucking thing.

Like the other person said, the people that do and say all this crazy shit spend thousands on rifles, rods, and trucks when a Crosstrek would probably be perfect. And that’s fine I guess it’s just they have the money(or the willingness to spend it anyway) and could probably squeeze a bi-weekly session in there.

But have you considered that going to therapy and dealing with their intense insecurity is scary?
