  • Um, that wouldn’t change if Google “sells Chrome”, though.

Firefox uses Google Search as a default, so does every Samsung phone (and most other Android devices).

Unless the DOJ is telling everyone not to implement a default search engine (and let the user decide upon first opening the browser), then who owns Chrome really doesn’t change much.

Other remedies the government is asking the court to impose include prohibiting Google from offering money or anything of value to third parties — including Apple and other phone-makers — to make Google’s search engine the default,

This is the only thing that makes sense, but “sell Chrome” is a laughable request.

  • Offer them a life that’s better than the one leading them down that path.

My dude, Democrats actually do offer a life that’s better for everyone, but that’s the problem.

These people don’t want other people to live better lives, they only want a better life for themselves. And the only way to get there is to quite literally either kill other people or make their lives unlivable.

Someone who’s willing to die or be put in jail “to stop the jews” or whatever bullshit they subscribe to, doesn’t give a damn about universal healthcare or a woman’s reproductive rights.

On the flip side, they aren’t voting for a guy who will improve their lives (not in the way you and I would view as an improved life). They are voting for a guy who will make OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES miserable. Because that’s how their world view works.

Unless you want Democrats to do the same, they are on completely different wavelengths.

    I wish I was wrong.

  • How do you “appeal” to future domestic terrorists when they believe it’s their calling to tear down everything good in society?

I’m not trying to be sarcastic or dramatic, but they are drawn to Trump because he embodies all the horrible things they aspire to become.

How can a political party that speaks of equality and justice even possibly make a connection with them? It sounds nice, but how would it happen without making your current base feel like you only want to help the worst behaved?

Wait until you tell extremist, right-wing Christians that Jesus wasn’t a white guy! Oooohhh boyyy!

Also, I think it’s important to not forget that in the internet age, a very small minority of hateful asshats can appear to have a very large voice. They are still a very small, minority group of asshats.

  • I really agree! Every time my municipality asks for public feedback on new parks or parks they plan to update, I always make it a point to make sure that all age groups (including teens) are covered.

But even in areas where teens are expected to be using the space (bike parks, skateboard ramps, basketball courts, etc.), they need to stop vandalizing those spots, or else they will simply not be built anymore. We’ve had basketball courts, soccer nets, and baseball diamonds destroyed by “bored kids”, and there’s no incentive to pay tens of thousands to fix the damage, just so they can do it again.

We had a new waterfront park built just a year ago, and within days three teens caused over $50,000 damage to it. Like, WTF??

  • The park in my parent’s neighborhood got rid of all the benches

This might not be some nefarious government plan, though.

Just this past weekend, I came across a fairly popular bench on a local bike path that was completely destroyed by someone who had to break it in half.

A few weeks back, another bench was burned up.

And at another local resting area, their (plastic?) picnic table was also defaced and unusable.

A park I grew up near was completely torched one day (all wooden structures), and it took years for metal equipment to go up in its place.

People who vandalize and misuse these fixtures are the reason why they end up being removed 99% of the time. And it’s unfair to everyone else.

Hell, we’ve had entire sheltered bus stops have their glass destroyed, and they just take the whole thing down and don’t replace it. As a taxpayer, I can understand not wanting to flip the bill for another thing for someone to destroy, but it still frustrates me that people can’t behave.
