I was actually wondering how the gender gap changed in this election, and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting:

According to exit polls by CNN Trump gained +2% of the male vote, and +5% of the female vote compared to 2020 - though women were still more likely to support Harris, of course.

An analysis by the AP found similar results, with the support from men under 45 increasing +7%, and women under 45 +6%, while for older men it decreased -1%, and for older women stayed the same.

Surprisingly, Trump’s support among racial minority groups increased while white and older Americans increased support for Harris.

After thorough analysis and much thought I have ultimately concluded that I have absolutely no fucking clue what is going on with American politics.

I would like to propose some changes to that title:

Conservatives have already said that they want to inspect children’s genitals, so it’s only a matter of time until they start saying that they want to regularly inspect women’s genitals as well to “protect unborn children” (read: control women and fulfill their sick fetish)

The Shovel? That just sounds like bullying bait, but I have seen a kid named Megatron, and that is indeed a badass name.

I remember when scientists were more focused on making AI models smaller and more efficient, and research on generative models was focused on making GANs as robust as possible with very little compute and data.

Now that big companies and rich investors saw the potential for profit in AI the paradigm has shifted to “throw more compute at the wall until something sticks”, so it’s not surprising it’s affecting carbon emissions.

Besides that it’s also annoying that most of the time they keep their AIs behind closed doors, and even in the few cases where the weights are released publicly these models are so big that they aren’t usable for the vast majority of people, as sometimes even Kaggle can’t handle them.

A lot of people seem to hate her for whatever reason, she was far from perfect, but all things considered I think she did fine as CEO and I never got the hate. It can’t be easy to manage a company as big and complex as YouTube.

If someone’s really worried about that stuff being leaked I think it’s on them to download VeraCrypt or smth, and also not to use ChatGPT for sensitive stuff knowing that OpenAI and Apple will obviously use it as training data.

Maybe they should try using Claude 3.5 Sonnet to write more secure code for their systems. I’ve heard it’s the best LLM out there when it comes to coding 🤡

I made a video a while back on the topic of political violence which I intended to be only like 5min long, but actually turned into 30 minutes as I researched more and came across more stuff I wanted to discuss on this subject.

I’m doing the same thing now as I’m writing an article on the Cass Review which is already 20 pages long and I’m probably gonna go over 30. I have two pages dedicated entirely to discussing only one of the items of the modified Newcastle-Ottawa Scale that some of the systematic reviews used, and I decided to leave it there because if I were to discuss all of the items in detail I could write three times more.
