  • Ones I have not seen in other comments, although you probably have enough at this point:

    • The Fifth Element - Yes I know the director is a sexual predator, it’s still really really good. One of the most creative movies ever made
    • Run Lola Run - Surreal modern-style impossible narrative movie from way before movies really did that, also very well done
    • O Brother Where Art Thou - Damn, we’re in a tight spot
    • Schindler’s List - Warning, very very very heavy obviously, but there is a reason it won all the awards
    • Conan the Barbarian - You may or may not like B movies, but if you like “Sword and Sandal” B movies, this one is the king
    • The Sting - Absolutely top-notch gangster movie from before your parents were born
    • Office Space - If you have ever worked a crappy tech job this movie will become your spirit animal in time of need

I’ve also heard great things about “Highlander.” Don’t watch the sequels.

There are also miniseries. “Stranger Things” season 1, “Chernobyl,” and “Game of Thrones” up until about season 5. Yeah, it’s a shame they never made any more after that, but you can just let it be. You’ll know roughly when. If the three female assassins from Dorne come on the screen, you went too far, just turn it off immediately and be sure to take a shower right away.

    Edit: Additions

  • There was a little cat that used to accompany me on my walk home from work most nights. I would walk through this pretty quiet neighborhood, and the cat if he was outside would run up and walk along with me. Like “Oh shit, we buddies, let’s go on patrol together.” Eventually, it would be too far and he would take his leave. Then, same thing next night.

    Wonderful stuff, man.

  • “Fuck off I don’t like you, I’m happy out here, it’s where the birds are”

Edit: A counterpoint, Matt Damon told an entertaining story about adopting a small cat that they found more or less in the jungle during a vacation, pretty injured but generally fighting to survive. She hung around and ate the food they gave her for a couple of weeks and they decided we have a cat now.

He thought that they would take her home, get her veterinary care, and she would become a little jungle-cat terror of the neighborhood, but he said that once they got her home she literally never went outside again.

  • Well, let’s include this, with the following message to whoever originally wrote it: We hope you’ll get in touch with Barbara Burgower at Straight Arrow Books in order that we may properly credit this piece of writing and carry the customary copyright of permissions and acknowledgments in future editions of this book.

senator mcgovern had hinged his lxxxxcxx whole campaign on oppostion to the vietnam war, xxxxxxxxxxxx hoping to pursuade americans of its immorality and awakenong in them a sense of outrage and shame, he tried to demonstrate that the continuing american presnece in vietnam, the bombing and the xxxxxx suport of what he denounced as a corrupt dictatorship was an indication of xxx a xxxxx moral collapse in the x united states. He did not balme the people but the nixon administration / but the people did not xxxxx respond to his appeals, ironically yesterday morning he voted here in support of a local xxxxx proposition to outlwa the killing of a small bird known as the @mourning dove@ last night, as the nixon landslide gathered momentum that is precisely what heorge mcgovern became—a mourning dove.

i xxxxx asked him if the worst happened whether he would run again and he said: @emphantically: no i will not. i shall stay in the senate but xxx someone else will have to carry on what I began.@

frewuently in the last two weeks, senator mcgovern had spoken of a young p black man who xxxxxx predicted that the election was going to break his heart because he was going to g find out that the american people were not as high minded as he thought they were/typically, mr. mcgovern challenged this view, x saying that he believed in the goodness and decency of the people and that they would respond to their own consciences.

but the election did break his heart after all. he thought he saw xxx faces glowing with hope xx that the country would aim for higher standards, yearing for peace and an edn to the domestic anguish. but the voters turned their backs on him.
