Four Thieves are legit. Controversial but they’re confronting a lot of uncomfortable truths that need to be addressed .
That implies law enforcement will investigate right wing extremists, which they often don’t because they’re a part of that whole thing. Loads of LEOs give their buddies insider info to avoid being flagged.
Just buy a white car AND use a visor, what’s wrong with that?
Nothing’s wrong with that-- why would I assume you’re talking about regular paint when this whole article is specifically about a single type of new paint developed to keep cars cool in heat?
You seem to care a lot.
I think you’re confusing my care for the issue as me caring for you. It’s too bad you can’t even be bothered to make some of your comment relevant to the discussion.
That’s okay, you seem pretty simpleminded so I don’t exactly expect you to understand the issue. I understand the anti-car sentiment but you’ve clearly gone off the deep end yet you still seem to think it matters to other people whether you care about issues like this.
What’s the cost (financial and environmental) of repainting a car vs using a windshield visor that’s at least twice as effective at reducing heat? Painting a car with this stuff would cost thousands of dollars compare to $20 for a visor.
You realize the emissions saved from reduced AC usage would also reduce the heat island effect, right? Sun visors like this are good for public spaces.
Also, it’s more environmentally friendly to have people use visors than repaint their whole car.
Windshield screens are the low-tech but far more effective method of keeping a car’s interior cooler, typically by at least 20F when it’s really hot out. Slightly inconvenient but unlike this paint, a windshield screen will actually make a difference.
It is if you don’t overload it’s weight capacity. Same goes with most of their stuff. I’ve owned really nice computer desks and yet the one I love the most cost like $150 from Ikea. It’s not needlessly overbuilt, has nice flat edges that are great for clamping things onto like lights, mic arms, etc. and as others have said, it’s a million times easier to move.
Right?
Well that’s unfortunate. What are more ideal instances of Lemmy? Thanks for the explanation, by the way.
I have no clue how Lemmy works. I made an account and just assumed that was that.
😏 be like me and use a cast iron skillet that weighs a ton, never is slick like you see on the internet, and is a removed (really Lemmy? Auto censor?? FFS) to clean
In all seriousness, I just made scrambled eggs on the ol’ beast and they turned out decent. Far from non stick but it’s non cancer at least.
Agreed. I also do the same thing for my radio equipment and electronics in general-- all in compartmentalized, clear bags with printed labels on them. I always thought label makers were expensive but I bought a $20 handheld label maker + 3rd party tapes and it’s amazing how good this thing is. It’s really helped me stay organized.
This way I basically have an inventory that is easily accessible by friends and family, like a shared inventory. The initial process of labelling, zip tying, bagging and boxing everything… That admittedly took a few days of work because I wanted to find and sort every cable/most small electronics, but after that? Smooooth sailing.
Big media = big reach, compromises made. Fediverse = tiny reach, fewer compromises made. I can see why Indigenous folks choose the former over the latter.
I have all my cables zip ties and in labelled clear bags and grouped by cable type into larger bags. It’s like my own store inventory, I love it.
Ya know, you may have just helped me finally make the full switch. Thank you
I have all kinds of cable extensions specifically to reduce my reliance on BT. Wired bedside headphones and keyboard are the best
