Probably at some point as prices per TB continue to come down. I don’t know anyone buying a laptop with a HDD these days. Can’t imagine being likely to buy one for a desktop ever again either. Still got a couple of old ones active (one is 11 years old) but I do plan to replace them with SSDs at some point.

Also, Reddit will block anything NSFW if you are under 18. Anything related to sex often gets flagged as NSFW. So I guess fuck you if you are 16 and trying to have safe sex I guess. NSFW probably shouldn’t always mean 18+

Don’t really need a compass for a road trip given you are just following roads. I went on a bike ride somewhat recently following a similar idea, using a tablet instead of a book but I just had an offline map and it doesn’t support GPS. I followed various paths and roads going around. Was a nice day trip.

Maps still work without GPS though. I wonder how many people could find their location on one?

You absolutely can make wire with just forging techniques. Not sure how far back, but a celtic torc can be made with many thin strands of metal, this sort of thing is more likely a question of how many 1000s of years ago were they able to.

I think the point is more that for WW2 the other nations would have just left them to it more. Maybe profit off the increased demand for materials. However, the war started because of Germany invading Poland, and you kinda need to go through Poland to get to the USSR.

I use 4G for my home internet, my IP address changes so frequently. Always thought IP bans were kinda dumb, certainly permanent ones. Maybe throw a week long one on so they don’t immediately create a new account but past that their address has almost certainly changed.
