I have been saying this for years

Google is having problems, they can’t make profits anymore. Its different because reddit was never profitable, but googles been profitable for years.

Edit: I said they can’t make profits, but what I should have said is they can’t innovate and produce new value, they can only cut expenses and squeeze consumers with subscriptions and advertisements in order to remain profitable. Eventually there won’t be anything left to cut and will then cease to be profitable. Google is on the decline.

I can’t wait for google to crash and burn. Bring back GeoCities and Netscape navigator.

I like these memes. As someone who is endlessly critical of establishment politicians these are cute and lets me suspend disbelief for a moment; a political meme that isn’t funny for its cynicism or sarcasm, but is genuinely wholesome and funny, and doesn’t make me angry on any level.

Years ago I had a romantic partner, and they were going through some significant changes, eventually culminating in our breakup and later their acceptance and identification with non-binary gender. Not important.

Shortly after we broke up, or kinda broke up or whatever, she shaved her head to a short stubble. It looked good. Started hanging out more with a guy we knew let’s call him Tom. Real nice guy, great cook, just a good all round human. He decided to go on a cross country van trip, and my ex decided to go with him. Saw some pics looked like fun, whatever.

Within our friend group there was a couple that would come around to parties: she was very nice and friendly, strikingly attractive light eyes; her husband was kind of a terse dickish guy. About a year after my ex’s road trip, the couple gets a divorce. The woman, shaves her head to a short stubble, it looked good. Within a few months guess who goes on a cross country road trip with Tom?

Republicans aren’t afraid of democrats because dems aren’t a threat to republican power. Republican policy threatens the lives of millions of women, children, bipoc, lgbtq+, etc., but dems can only stave off the worst abuses, such as a second trump term (they’d better be able to, so far looks like he’s cooked) or launch a campaign once the rights have been taken away. And yes its true, republicans and democrats get funding from many of the same sources, democrats have even funded goofball republicans they thought would be easier to defeat (see desantis, trump). Republicans have nothing to fear from a democrat. I am wishing that democrats were more self reflective of these reasons and many others; but rather than do an ounce of self reflection “the only obvious” take you could get made no sense. Its sadly quite telling, as to how otherwise good, intelligent people are able to believe and adhere to the nonexistent “back to brunch” political program of the democrats.

Hope that clarifies my perspective for you a smidge

Dog whistle admission? No I don’t think that republicans and democrats believe they are the “same” and I don’t think that communists believe that GOP and dems believe that about themselves. Some young online communists might believe that Republicans and democrats are the same, since they are both capitalist parties, but that’s kind of a coarse analysis and I don’t think its great messaging.

Democrats should ask themselves why Republicans are more worried about imaginary communists than actual Democrats
