Eh, I would say investment into R&D should be encouraged and maybe allow tax write offs. Even of the end goal is a private power source. Once that R&D turns into workable, operable, sellable products, then tax the fuck out of them. Perhaps disallow making things that can be a boon to public infrastructure from being deem proprietary, so that it can be more easily adapted to public use.
I dunno, I’m typing from my couch after a few beers.

They served as generals in the Republic Army - the Army he likely served in before it was reorganized into the Empire. He would have known of them and their exploits, if not first hand, then from news and military reporting.
Of course the EU (which Disney wiped away) would have tried to clean up George’s short sightedness.
I know. The prequels maybe weren’t well thought out. That shit talker would have served among the Jedi and during the purge.
I’m pretty sure The Den of Tools is just a shill for Harbor Freight.
I hate the Cybertruck as much as the next guy, but this could really boil down to just tire choice and nothing more.
Hmm… maybe. You should look up East German Superfest glass. Big dishware producers refused to use it because it meant not selling replacement dishes.
Though, OP’s argument is just dumb.
Or, this sounds like tactical planning in case of an invasion, to prevent access of valuable resources to the invaders. Making it “need to know” makes perfect sense.
And it’s about fucking time.
No, you can disable those too.
