HR lady once spit a whole ass pack of lies about my work performance, and had cut off my email access so I couldn’t prove her wrong, which would have been trivially easy. Realized before I spoke up that if the HR director is lying this bad, there’s no reason to even try to “prove” I’m right, just a really toxic company.
Yeah you can. You forfeit UI if you quit voluntarily. You’d only lose it if you got fired for doing something illegal, I think

The extreme rise in food prices are due mostly to agribusinesses sharing trade data through algorithmic platforms. It’s collusion and price fixing with extra steps. The ones in charge of stopping these kind of practices are currently not interested in helping.
There is no point responding to right wing idiots; all of their speech is logical fallacy and bad faith rhetoric. They’re best ignored, or talked over. They can’t be bothered to respond to anyone, they just spout their own bullshit, no matter what anyone else says, so we as a society need to refuse to debate them or address them directly. Whatever they say just respond with another fact that refutes their entire existence
A truly free market will always result in total monopoly. There is no such thing as a “free market” and capitalism is evil. Everything about society is a human construct built by humans and can be rebuilt by other humans. We can create a just society.

One of the most healthy practices you can do is to fully experience negative emotion, let it wash over you and fully occupy you, then breathe deeply and let that emotion go. Holding on to negative emotion has long term health consequences. Remember that you have no control over the world, just your own reactions to the world. I have a lot of anger that I try to let go of this way. Life has become a long series of just being shit on by everyone and everything. But what can I really do about it? Keep working and moving up the ladder to where the shit sandwiches have more bread I guess. In the meantime, I try to practice mindfulness with my emotions and breathe through them. You can use the Dune Litany Against Fear with pretty much any negative emotion.

NYC. I walk a round trip of 3k for groceries twice a week. Not unusual to walk 5k per day.
The lowly shopping cart is the only appliance that can absorb my gathered rage as I launch it full speed into its brethren
