The ford mondeo (I think it was called the fusion in the US) was ‘inspired’ by the Aston Martin Rapide. This was at a time when Ford owned Aston Martin. Fisker and Porritt, who worked at tesla when the model S came out, also worked for Ford/Aston Martin.

Bit of a tangent, but I find it funny that Americans complain about it being hot when they have AC in most of their buildings, but then mock people complaining about a 40C/105F heatwave with relatively high humidity in countries where AC is anything but standard and sometimes with houses which are designed to keep the heat in during the winter meaning it can easily reach 45C/115F or more inside.
I assume it’ll happen again this summer, with the usual Marie Antionette level “let them use AC” comments, not seeming to grasp the environmental and financial cost of AC everywhere.

The Chinese government is subsidising their car industry, so they can engage in dumping, and decimate our car industries. When our domestic car industries are dead, they’ll raise prices. It’s like Amazon or any other scummy megacorp that kills local businesses.
This being said, it’s hard to feel sorry for companies who also receive plenty of government subsidies and tax breaks, broke the law on emissions testing and likely killed a lot of people because of it, and refused to innovate or lower prices out of sheer greed.
