  • Went last night to stay at a hotel with a casino to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I play poker a lot with friends but only a few times at casinos, and my wife only does slot machines. We never go to casinos and this is the first time in like a decade. Got away from the kids for the first time in 7 years so after she quickly lost $80 like it was nothing to slots we were already good.

After talking, she finally agreed to a long-time promise about going to the strip club together since she’s never been to anything like that. I have to agree with you, I may have lost the rest of my money, but it was a dam great time and an amazing first-time experience and something I hope I never forget (for both of us since it was way different than just going solo)!

That’s something that never would have happened staying at the depressing slots, which may have been 30 more minutes tops to lose what I spent there. 1 bucket list item checked, lol.

  • So far, I have installed Windows 11 on 4 devices that were not allowed due to TPM or CPU, and all have worked fine. I will continue this until it either no longer works correctly, or they finally stop allowing it.

The best one so far is an older Dell precision I have at work from like 2015 with a xeon chip, and they don’t support it. Works great so far, and I even put hyper-v on it with another Windows 11 running for testing purposes. I’m super happy because the company has ran out of money and even though I am up for an upgrade there is no way they are giving me a system this beefy again so I will milk it for as long as I can!

  • I’ve had the same HP printer since around 2016? Don’t use it much, but it comes in handy when it’s needed. First time I ran out of ink I shopped around for the best deal and ended up with some other ink brand. Dumb me decided to update the printer when I got the ink. Boom it denied me the ability to use it now… it took me a few hours of trying to find exactly how to downgrade the firmware back to a previous version so I can use the dam ink I brought! I was thrilled when that worked. I then set it’s IP to static and removed the gateway. Now, no matter what it can’t reach home and know it needs an update at all. I almost can’t wait till the day this stops working so I can invest my money into whatever few brands that don’t screw you.

I gave it up in 2016. It was early in the year, and 100% because I thought it was useless. Little did I know it was the best move of the year considering how much I heard about all the crazy people coming out during election season… It still exists, I really should find time to completely remove it now.

  • I did this as well. Been buying Samsung since 2006 and finally said let’s get a high end one around 2017… it was incredible, for like 4 months, then it started having some issues with lines appearing on and off. It was so quick at first I didn’t think to take action (also in denial). By the time it was bad it was like a year later and the warranty was over. I haven’t needed a tv in years since I’m living with it, but the next one will no longer be a samsung.
