I don’t speak Portuguese. “Our Lady of Penha” sounds…well…I’m making assumptions, let’s just say that. (Ladies are ladies, regardless of Penha.)

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
That’s exactly what I’d expect a climate change denier to say!
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•For the second time in my life, I'm going to eat soap.😋English4·1 month agoI’m just saying that bath water is not discharged from the body. Biowaste might be a better word. Sorry, I know this is not an important point.
I hope you enjoy your autograph collection. :)
Correlation is not causation, friend. Okay, I admit I had to jump at the chance to use that in the opposite direction as normal.
In any group of furries, tech workers are incredibly overrepresented. Furries are a tiny amount of tech workers, to be sure.
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•There's a noticable influx of trans kids in my job. Are there any topics I should avoid or considerations I should take into account when training them?English1·1 month agoHow many trans people do you know? Has a trans person gotten mad at you for something?
Charitably, it seems like people who have never met trans people seem to think they’re balls of tinder, waiting to explode at any imagined slight. There is a lot of misinformation and propaganda out there and trans people are a punching bag.
Yes, words change a lot, and maybe someone might ask you to use a different word. That’s not an attack on you.
Yeah, you might meet someone on a bad day or there could be a misunderstanding, but, in general, treating people with kindness and respect works out pretty well.

I don’t understand it either, but using a word that most often means “fecal matter” tends to make things less attractive.
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•For the second time in my life, I'm going to eat soap.😋English13·2 months agoI feel bad for people who grew up with cameras on them every second of their existence. Most of the shit I did in my 20s would ruin someone’s life now. I love Gen Z. They’re more “square” but, gestures at everything.
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•There's a noticable influx of trans kids in my job. Are there any topics I should avoid or considerations I should take into account when training them?English3·2 months agoMaybe “engaging with someone’s physical presentation” was just always a bad idea and you’ve just recently realized that.
Treating people with kindness and respect mostly works out fine.

Furry-ness is correlated to hyper specific niche interests is correlated to high paying tech jobs.
Businesses that help people get off are rarely short of customers.
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Will LLMs make finding answers online a thing of the past?English1·2 months agoI said “cut a forum by 90%”, not “a forum happens to be smaller than another”. Ask ChatGPT if you have trouble with words.
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Will LLMs make finding answers online a thing of the past?English3·2 months agoIf you cut a forum’s population by 90% it will die.
This is one of the biggest problems with AI. If it becomes the easiest way to get good answers for most things, it will starve the channels that can answer the things it can’t (including everything new).
Dragonstaff@leminal.spaceto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do, relatively, so few of you set an avatar for your profile?English9·2 months agoCan’t be arsed.
I’m not sure how to, and it’s not something I care about enough to figure out how. I generally think of posting here as more shouting into the void, so I don’t care very much to personalize my account.
I use Sync. I may be missing out on the perfectly simple UI that was developed to do this.

That’s the entire point of the post, my guy. Some apps use the Downloads folder. Some use their own. Some use a folder you set a year ago when you first got the app but don’t remember anymore.
The interface abstracts away from the actual file system so finding a file becomes guesswork. Doubly so if you then want to use the downloaded file in a different app that also doesn’t give access to the file system.
Just ftr: Everyone uses drugs about equally. They just arrest Black people disproportionately for it.

I haven’t used it in about 10 years, and this is at least the fourth computer it has been in. Maybe I don’t need it anymore, but if I throw it away, then I’ll surely have to read a DVD.
This is such a weird comment. Did you read the part that you didn’t quote? If I didn’t read the article, where would I have gotten “Our Lady of Penha” from?
