  • I know this is the meme and shitpost place but some lurker might have some insight.

I actually still use IE from time to time when Im trying to watch a movie or whatnot. I have 2 screens and 2 sets of speakers, call them left and right. When streaming I treat the left like a TV. with its own audio direction

but to do this I have to run it through a different browser, and then I have the volume mixer set to output Internet explorer audio through the secondary speakers.

someone know a way of doing it on a tab basis. maybe? In chrome

  • I dont know. you tell me. Outside of the thunderdome in the middle east. whens the last time there was a major conflict with dozens of nations and more than two major ideoligies at play.

If you’re asking in good faith. World War II’s situation was largely unprecedented.
Unlike WWI Where Imperial Russia and France were allied. Soviet Russia was not allied with France, Britain, or western Europe.

The Soviet Union was not entitled to an alliance with partners they were at war with only a decade prior. Britain and France were at war with the entity that would become the Soviet Union until 1922, There was no reason to Trust an alliance from a state that was ideologically opposed to them and wanted to destroy their way of life.

But the Victim complex from the Russians is a venerable beast, it was as relevant in 1925 as it was in 2025.

The Soviet Union. Or more accuratley, RUSSIA was one of the two aggressors that Started the second world war.

Furthermore, they were not an ally, but a co-belligerent. Why else did the free world go from a period of direct confrontation and war in the 20s, to Cold war in the 30s. to temporary truce for 4 years from 1941 to 1945. right back to Cold war with Moscow from 1945 till 1991? (and then another temporary truce from 1991 until about 2008) right back to more or less being de facto at war with each other again since 2014

And you can’t pin tens of millions of your own people, with Purges, Pogroms, Mentally handicapped suicidal orders. And general paranoid hysterical incompetnece. and blame those on the germans.

especially when large percentages of those people were colonized nations that wanted nothing to do with the Bolshevik Russian Imperial rule (Belarusians, Ukrainians, Poles, Balts etc and were just used like buffers and meat shields)

  • I quit facebook about 5 months ago, when I finally snapped at just how vapid people were. The keyboard warrior energy was too much to bear. and that was on top of the political news spam.

news is actually banned from facebook in our country because of the rampant disinformation associated with it. so spammers got around it by disguising news as really shamless product advertisements, stuff like

“NDP LEADER JAGMEET SINGH KILLED IN FATAL CAR ACCIDENT, ON LIVE TELEVISION” - and it’s an advertisement for some Chatgpt generated lifestyle blog. Advertisement posted by an unverified account in Hungary or some shit

  • its probbly the rear projection. it looked like this, but my memory tells me it was quite a bit bigger https://i.redd.it/ig6k6bngyaca1.jpg

edit - its actually probably that same model i linked or a bigger version of the same line, its an RCA, I know they had a lot of those throughout the years, my grandfather ran a furinture, electronics, appliance and computer store in the early 2000s and the house was always full of Panasonic, RCA, and “Zenith” electronics. As well as the occasional thing from the more well known brands like Hitachi, Toshiba, and Sony.

but Zenith and RCA were dominant there

double edit - it appears RCA went defunct before I was even born, so if it was an RCA it would have been something he bought used, or had kicking around from before I was born.

  • this just sent me down a nostalgia rabbithole.

in the late 90s and early 2000s my grandparents had two interesting Televisions in the house, one was a very large CRT TV that they kept using until the late 2000s or early 2010s. but the other was an ENORMOUS flatscreen that was so big it looked like a CRT on the back, I dont even know what kind of technology it was, Im assuming it wasn’t a CRT though if this one here in this video is the largest, because the one they had was 2-3 times its size horizontally. (they had it in the late 90s, Im g oing to assume it was an early version of a plasma but im not sure really)
