  • Oh yeah,I’m no expert. I can see salt being problematic if the system sprung leaks and contaminated the soil which wouldnt be uncommon once you have tens of thousands of houses rigged up. Im pretty sure most water based systems just use water and antifreeze.

Point is that the fundamentals are simple, when theres excess electricity and nobody is home convert it into stored thermal energy that can be used later when people are home, the devils will be in the details.

  • Theres tons of ways that people with even a little brains could figure out, the problem is often cost or feasability.

A big burried water tank in my yard could be heated during the day and used to warm the house via underfloor heating at night, could do the reverse with chilled water in the middle of summer plumbed to an air recirculator with a heat exchanger. Its really simple engineering but expensive to implement.

I think an awful lot of people just dont understand the sheer scale of a lot of these problems, not the fundamentals.

  • Because I wouldnt settle for a blowjob.

Because your mum said no to anal.

Because your mum is a stone cold freak.

Because the swingers parties got out of hand.

Because our bull doesnt like condoms.

Because I spent the abortion money on strippers.

Because I was too lazy to have a wank.

    And finally.

Apologise and be nice to each other or Ill go dump one in your mother right now and see if I can get you a baby brother.

  • You are assuming that the government will run the insurance process competently. The government already is beholden to the voters and public opinion and they are just so efficient and devoid of red tape right? You’re also assuming the government will run the insurance industry as some sort of benevolent not for profit as opposed to a new form of tax. Not to mention what happens when the republicans get in and decide to raise insurance on electric vehicles or manipulate the price of insurance on cars from certain countries as a form of ersatz import tariff, or install political appointment figureheads who can take kickbacks to make certain manufacturers cheaper to insure. Not to mention the formation of a government department of adjusters and estimators to run the whole deal.

The existing system sucks buy I dont see the government having total control and no alternatives being some sort of magical panacea.

  • Australia has a mixed system.

Theres some nuance to this but essentially the government covers most things but you might wait a long time, especially for anything that isnt actively killing you. You don’t get to pick your doctor, you get the treatments that are govt approved and you get shuffled out the door just as fast as humanly possible.

Private health insurance means you can choose your specialist, you have more of a say in your treatments and if your specialist says “If you want to go home tomorrow you can, but I’d like you to stay in for 3 days ideally” and you can if you want.

Yeah I hate to say it but it does remind me to do it.

I can name my 5 favorite youtubers for each of my interests and hobbies by name or channel name, I’m a grownup I know how to find what I want.

BUT I also want to support these people who make me my entertainment for free. I dont always remember to like their videos but I know its important for the algorithm to make them more money so when they say it I think “Yeah, if it means you can keep making a living off this shit… ok”

  • As a massive car enthusiast ChatGPT is a fucking GODSEND now that Google is completely shit.

I wanted to know what model of transmission was in a car, hours of googling only returned me link after link after link of gearboxes to buy, parts for gearboxes to buy all like 2000 - 2004 make and model. Now for those who dont know, gearboxes are often internally the same with different casings for different manufacturers or use cases, so “How much horsepower can a make and model gearbox support” is a waste of time but “How much power can an Aisin A340e support” gets you the right info.

I asked Chatgpt, and yep. Thats the one.
