If you can get the boat going before it floods, the boat moving through the water will create enough suction to drain out any water. You just better have a plug waiting for you at your destination.

So you can buy that somewhere, but that’s a Google search I am not about to make for you.
This wrench is a visual representation of my mental health
I, Frankenstein
CGI filled brainless action with demons and gargoyles fighting a secret war. Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein is stuck in the middle. The whole thing tries to copy the vibe of Underworld and mostly fails. Somehow I still love watching it. It’s just the right kind of bad for me.
Empire Records.
I make references from that movie all the time and nobody ever gets it. Doesn’t stop me.
As much as being out or outed can put you at risk in many places in the world, I don’t think there is an obligation to put yourself at risk by being an activist. That being said, there are ways to provide aid to those in need besides activism.

ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Could socialism work without any limit to procreation? Why or why not?10·2 months agoOne of the social factors that most limits procreation is the education of women. If advanced education is available and encouraged, the age a woman has their first child is pushed back. As fertile years are limited for women, this reduces their potential numbers of children. On top of that, educated women often seek careers which often further reduces their active reproductive years. This is why developed countries usually have much lower birthrates than underdeveloped countries.
Chance the “Socialism” label on the bus to “Fascism” and the comic would still work.

ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How did we get so casual about conspiracy theories?82·3 months agoMKUltra was a secret government program that experimented on people using LSD and torture. The man who became the Unabomber was one of its victims.
COINTELPRO was a series of covert and illegal projects conducted between 1956 and 1971 by the FBI aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting American political organizations that the FBI perceived as subversive. This included feminist organizations, the Communist Party USA, anti-Vietnam War organizers, activists in the civil rights and Black power movements (e.g., Martin Luther King Jr., the Nation of Islam, and the Black Panther Party), environmentalist and animal rights organizations, the American Indian Movement , Chicano and Mexican-American , and independence movements (including Puerto Rican independence groups).
The Iraq War was predicated on “weapons of mass destruction” which the government knowingly lied about.
The United Fruit Company backed a coup in Honduras.
General Motors conspired to collapse the streetcar industry to gain a monopoly on public transportation.
Cigarette companies suppressed information on the health effects of cigarettes.
Oil companies suppressed information on the environmental effects of fossil fuels.
Purdue Pharma conspired to suppress the risks of Oxycontin and to expand the use of the drug to levels they knew would cause addiction.
My point is, there are true conspiracies all the time. The internet has made it possible for more people to know about it. Unfortunately it has also made it easier for false conspiracy theories to propagate
