CHOPSTEEQ@lemmy.mlto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Say what you will about Kirk, but he made some great points in his debating15·1 month agoCalling the US culture “alien” is an easy cop out way to say it’s not our fault. But the truth is, it’s authentic human shit. It’s uniquely fucked up comparatively but it’s still a result of millennia of human civilization. We’re all partially responsible.
Nah, they’re just Harbor Freight cheapo balls. All stainless balls are like $60, plated ones are like $20. It doesn’t take much for the plating to wear off from a trailer, and then there’s no stopping the rust.
Checkmate tankie, your own source says only 20k were murdered by Obama, not millions!
CHOPSTEEQ@lemmy.mlto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How do I manage docker&Traefik behind a reverse proxy not on docker.English7·3 months agoYour ports are not mapped so the host system doesn’t know about them. You only have them exposed, which is for docker communication.
Map your ports and then you’ll be able to access them by host-ip:mapped-port.
Then you can use nginx to proxy to that.
CHOPSTEEQ@lemmy.mlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's up with all the moth memes?22·4 months agoI decided to start blocking the people posting them. It turns out, it was literally one user making it a spam problem. I blocked one or two more on principle and haven’t seen a moth meme since.

Because of that, to me, it’s fundamentally unethical to have “AI” “write” anything. It’s insulting to me on a base level, particularly when used for communication.
It’s called a natural disaster and we get along just fine. If the entire planet loses power, there’s nothing to be done, but even if an entire US state loses power, gas generators come online and trucks haul fuel in from long distances. It doesn’t take long for a grocery store or bank to open up with cash withdrawals again.
Hammock camping! My last trip was my first time sleeping in a hammock and it was a revelation.
CHOPSTEEQ@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify begins accepting AI-narrated audiobooks recorded using ElevenLabs' software; Spotify already allows AI-recorded audiobooks, with several restrictions.English6·8 months agoI’m as anti “AI” as they come but there’s a master Japanese carpenter on YouTube, Shoyan, who goes through the trouble of translating his commentary to English, someone proofs it because the grammar is usually perfect, and then runs it through a comforting racially ambiguous old man voice from ElevenLabs I think. And honestly? It works really well. It’s obviously not a natural voice but it’s not fake enough to be disorienting or annoying like the early types were.
On the one hand yes. But, and this is a big but, typically when ships are sunk by the government, a lot of environmental impact studies and decontamination processes are preformed. The goal is usually to create artificial reefs, which is pretty useful because of how much damage we’ve done to the natural habitats.
Does it balance out, or make up for it? I don’t know, I’m not smart enough. But I do know the artificial reef projects are greatly appreciated and highly desired by local governments.
Hell yes! That was the point of my rambling though I never quite got there. I was wondering if curriculums had caught up yet, to at least look at the modern system languages. Sounds like you’re at a good program.
If Rust had been around when I was an underclassman, I would have been totally locked into the full CompSci track. Instead, I got introduced to Java and C (and calculus…) and that looked like a nightmare compared to what I had been playing with in JS/Python land, so I noped on out of there and got a Comp Sci Lite degree.
Years later, I’m just completely in love with Rust.
It’s not a fucking reveal, Kagi tells you exactly what engines they include in their results.
Plini as well as The Omnific!
