Removing the motivation/drive to do whatever it was you were gonna do in the first place. Walking to your rich friends house that had the encyclopedia set or walking to the library, it was another thing that you had to think of whether you wanted to get up and do. Call me crazy but lifting your phone or tablet or walking over to your computer to look it up is still a lot easier IMO.

I started using a couple of years ago. Works fine for me. I was not doing very high end stuff though.

I seemed to have no issue back in the day finding what I needed. Just not as easy.

I dunno, I see stuff about there is not even original corn and other items left anywhere except for seed banks. Also don’t like bioengineered means they own it. Corps don’t share.

Umm, I personally would be more worried about the bioengineered stuff myself.

Man I go so much stuff back in the day. I would give my member number to my clients and said use it when they buy. Worked for years. Never went back after they stopped doing point system.

I am anecdotal, almost 70. So my data does not really count as I do not do much. I use text for family and Signal for anything else. Quit all the other services pretty much except Lemmy/Piefed have accounts on Bluesky and mastodon but I don’t say anything so far on them. I save my yelling at the clouds for here.
