I will say that, for my pedantic needs, it typically only gets about 80-90% of the way there so I still have to put fingers to code, but it definitely saves a boat load of time in those instances.

Still not perfect, but night and day difference.
I feel like ChatGPT didn’t focus on coding and instead focused on mainstream, but I am not an expert.

It regularly suggests code that doesn’t compile or isn’t even for the language.
It generally suggests AC of code that is just a copy of the lines I just wrote.
Sometimes it likes to suggest setting the same property like 5 times.
It is absolute garbage and I do not recommend it to anyone.
lol, fuck off, troll.
Time to drink the juice that destroys my liver.
You already destroyed your liver.
…oh.

AlecSadler@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft’s Recall feature is still threat to privacy despite recent tweaksEnglish7·1 month agoHow’d you do that? I’ve made registry tweaks, group policy tweaks, etc and my windows machine still eventually hits a limit where it forces updates around the 12 week mark. Granted it’s still longer than before, it isn’t completely disabled.
I have 60ish plugins for VS Code and IntelliJ is still slower / sluggish.
Oh thank god, I thought it was just me and that my IP had been flagged for some reason.

It’s part of a troubling trend in big techEnglish2·2 months agoI guess that makes some sense, I loathe Jira but I think it’s largely because everywhere I’ve worked that uses Jira has poorly customized it and just ruined the experience.
AlecSadler@sh.itjust.worksto Technology@lemmy.world•Google is going ‘all in’ on AI. It’s part of a troubling trend in big techEnglish5·2 months agoYou might be joking but I honestly think that’s the case. It’s wild to me. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies using SNOW and everybody hated it and regularly voiced complaints and issues and yet the company refused to change. Started doing shit like releasing more training docs on how to use it or doing brown bag lunches on SNOW effectiveness.
But ultimately none of that mattered, it is just inherently garbage.

I hate any company I work for that uses ServiceNow. And now it’s getting worse??
I only wish I could buy half loaves of the breads I like.
I can’t get through a whole loaf alone to save my life unless I eat the same thing for 3 meals a day and I’d prefer not to.
