I got a WD Red from Amazon (Marketplace) that looked exactly like a legit one, though kinda scratched up. I was only able to tell because I tried running a SMART test and it didn’t even fail, it just didn’t work. I got suspicious, so I tried to register the product on Western Digital website and it lacked the necessary code on the label. I then contacted WD and confirmed it was fake, thankfully I could return it and get money back.
