I picked out this… thing. The duvet cover had eaten everything in the machine and turned itself into a postmodern textile art piece.

      You have to button them (duvet covers) up again before you wash them. I regret it every time I don’t.

          clarifying - duvet COVERS, not the duvet itself.

          Of mine, some (more expensive) have buttons, some (IKEA) have poppers, all of them have something though?

            Mine are fairly cheap (but feels good) and all they have is just a narrower opening on the foot end. No buttons of any sort. Old, new, doesn’t matter. None have buttons.

      You have to do them with just like the fitted sheet and pillow cases.

      I still think one swallowed a pillow case and now I can never find the matching one anymore.
