It’s about 5-10% more in the UK. The maintenance on a reliable transmission is fairly minimal but any mechanical problems are almost guaranteed to be a nightmare buried under a mountain of metal. Turns out, automatic is just still way more expensive to buy AND, as I recently learned, crazy expensive in maintenance.
